Our highly aromatic and mystical vinegar reminds us of the time of Richard the Lionhearted, King of England, 1157-1199. On his return from the Holy Land in 1192 (III . Crusade) Richard was captured near Vienna by Leopold V of France.
On March 28, 1193 the King of England was handed over to the Emperor in Speyer and imprisoned in the Trifels fortress. After a ransom payment of over 23 tons of silver, Richard was released from his captivity at the Reichstag in Mainz in 1194. In honor of this immensely important event we have incorporated an old recipe handed down to us for this very aromatic vinegar.
Noble royal balsamic vinegar from the best wines and vintages with overripe plums, elderberries and freshly plucked pine needles give this fragrant, delicious and balsamic aperitif its enchanting flavor.
The Lionheart vinegar is for all knights of our time who wish to spice up a full-bodied sauce and dishes featuring wild herbs, fresh wild mushrooms, and hearty meats or aromatic cheeses.
Of course, it tastes delicious pure as a stimulating aperitif or may be enjoyed after a satisfying meal.
