In Greek the word “angel“ or “angelos“ means “messenger“ or “envoy“. In ancient Egypt the word angel means “God’s light” – the bridge to freedom. Our knowledge of angels comes from biblical scriptures by Dioysius Aveopugita who was a student of the Apostle Paulus. In most religions there are messengers between heaven and earth. In Celtic mythology the messengers were Godlike animals. The Talmud and ancient Jewish doctrine form the basis for the belief in angels. Even for the Babylonians and the Sumerians the world was filled with Godly beings that protected people and granted them love. The Koran mentions angels as “Malaika” and appears over 80 times in old scriptures. Angels carry and accompany us. Their protection helps us to overcome difficult times. Myths about angels provide the world with love and continuance and give some people a foothold in their daily lives. I am happy to have a guardian angel. For this reason, and the fact that there are good angels that accompany us, we’ve created a new vinegar with the poetic name “Angels Kiss the Night”. Wild cherry, apricots, figs and vanilla are the basic essences that kiss our six year, oak barrel aged vinegar. A tender, voluminous and exceedingly elegant manner in which to thank our angels. Enjoyed pure as an aperitif; integrated in fresh juices; to desserts, cheese, ice cream and to fruit salad and torte – a heavenly gift.
