The Greeks called the wild fig tree Erineos – in Latin Capificus. The fig tree was known as an pleasant fruit that flooded the body with warmth. In earlier times cooked figs were the fundamental ingredient in sweet, refreshing delicacies. We’ve married fine vinegar with these noble figs to produce a tender and delicate scent that unfolds into a wealth of aroma. Used as an aperitif to excite the palate and stimulate your appetite for a splendid fig dish. Fig vinegar is a piquant, sweet-sour variant for herb salads, crustaceans, fish, wild game and especially to refine sweet dishes. Our tip: Use fig vinegar to bring out the natural flavours and aroma in local fruits such as bilberries, raspberries and tropical fruits like pineapple, mango and papaya.
